About the Artist
Heidi Lippman grew up in New York City, studied at American University, Washington DC and California College of the Arts in Oakland CA, earning her MFA from Claremont Graduate University in Southern California. After teaching at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, she was awarded a Ford Foundation Grant. A founding member of the Washington Sculptors’ Group, she has lectured and taught at colleges and universities throughout the U.S. Dozens of articles have appeared concerning Heidi Lippman’s work in regional and national publications (Baltimore Sun, Washington Post, Metropolis, Urban Land, Sculpture Magazine, etc.). Her art has appeared in numerous one person drawing and sculpture exhibits in Germany, Italy, New York and Washington D.C., as well as group exhibits in Virginia, Maryland, New York, and Washington D.C. Artist's Statement
Lippman has experimented throughout her career with non-traditional media: gravel rooftops, lead sculpture, carved in situ drywall, terrazzo floors, exterior and interior monumental mosaics and recently glass. She is currently focusing her attention on large-scale site specific permanent installations which can be seen in public venues throughout the Baltimore-Washington region including BWI Marshall International Airport, New Carrollton METRO and AMTRAK Station, Pentagon Mark Center Station.Featured Work

City of Tampa Commissioned Andante for their Riverwalk. This series of 14 enhanced glass bays, play with the reflections, translucency and movement suggested by the Hillsborough River. Visible from both sides for all users of this walkway and river.
