About the Artist

Howard has been a professional photographer for over 40 years and have worked out of his own studio, Studio H, for the last 35. He originally came to Baltimore from New York to study at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree. His award-winning work involves layering and collaging of images—both in film and digital. A very early adopter of digital, Howard was a beta tester for Photoshop and coauthored a book on Photoshop—Photoshop 4 Complete. His clients include many Fortune 500 companies and his work is installed across the U.S.—from Las Vegas to Atlanta. He taught Photoshop and Digital Photography to undergraduates at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU), and taught a month-long Study Abroad course in Ireland and Australia for JHU. Howard has been an instructor for MICA and a frequent instructor for the Government and private industry. He is a past President and Board member of the American Society of Media Photographers. He has participated in many group and solo photography exhibits.
