Jeff Reed is an acoustic bassist, composer, and educator, currently residing in Baltimore, MD. One of the most in demand sidemen in the area, Jeff has performed extensively throughout the united states and in over thirty countries worldwide, Including Italy, Spain, Egypt, Turkey and Bahrain at venues such as The Room in Cario, Egypt and Sounds Jazz Club in Brussels, Belgium. He has had the distinct privilege to share the stage with musicians such as Billy Hart, Ben Monder, Alan Ferber, Greg Tardy, Tim Hagans, Shelia Jordan, Eddie Henderson, Paquito D'Rivera, Jonn Hicks, Joel Frahm, Don Byron, Ronnie Mathews, and Gary Thomas.
Also an accomplished electric bassist, Jeff has had the opportunity to perform with such notable acts as Tom Morello (of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave), Nils Lofgren (guitarist with Bruce Springsteen) and Lester Chambers of the Chambers Brothers. He has also performed and various bands opening for groups, Maroon 5 and Los Lobos and has played in venues such as Madison Square Garden.
Reed earned a Bachelors of Music from Towson University and a Master of Music from the University of Maryland, College Park. ln addition to performing as a sideman, Reed leads his own group and is the acoustic and electric bass instructor at Towson University.
