About the Artist

At the age of 64 and having embraced several different painting  styles and mediums ,I continue to approach painting with a childlike sense of wonder. I tend to paint in series and devote a good period of time to each series while actively seeking progressive visual change. My current , "Gods and Goddesses" series includes paintings inspired by mystical poetry from a single poetess. This series has been ongoing for several years encompassing many different approaches and sizes. I also continue to paint floral still life paintings from a local floral designer who grows and arranges her own bouquets. This " Floral Bizarre" series presents these arrangements in rare Clarice Cliff designed vases which would be nearly impossible to own. I like to realize each painting as a precious object created by the hands of man and realized by human imagination.

The Blue Sky Gods was derived from a piece of mystical poetry of the same name. This painting is part of the Gods and Goddesses series .
In My Father's House was inspired both by mystical poetry and the historic Liriodendron mansion which I grew up next to as a child.
The Lady of the Forest was inspired by modern mystical poetry and the mythical Goddess, Diana the Huntress.
Lei Hulumanu was inspired by mystical poetry which evokes ancient Hawaiian Goddesses and traditions.
L'Esperance is part of the Dreamscape series which led into the poetic visions.
AWAKE was inspired by spiritual mystical poetry.
