About the Artist
Jordan Lawson was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Towson University with a degree in Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Digital Art + Design in 2015. He is a digital artist whose subject matter focuses on contemporary themes and popular culture. Artist's Statement
I explore contemporary themes and popular culture through digital design. My ideas are transformed into print illustration and multi-media design, with a touch of painting. My process places a great emphasis on research, in order to allow thorough planning of the work. Without this, the content lacks originality and ingenuity. My unique combination of subject matter and aesthetic execution sets my style apart from that of others. My art is not created to simply fulfill what seems to be marketable to a certain crowd, but rather captures the uniqueness and individuality of people, life, and experiences. Exploring the sub culture of dirt bikes in Baltimore. An escape for many of the youth from the violence and ills of the Baltimore streets, yet this technically being an illegal activity. The juxtaposition and impact is profound.
