About the Artist
The daughter of a fine arts painter and historian, I have always had a penchant and appreciation for art. My love for art, however, was put on hold as I pursued a rewarding career as a professor of psychology. During that time, I would steal bits of time to experiment with styles and mediums hoping to one day give my art more focus. Since moving to Baltimore, I have benefitted greatly from studying painting at the Schuler School of Fine Arts. There I came to the realization that I missed doing art and wanted to pursue it full time. I am now devoting myself to my first love. My portrait work is done in oil on canvas.Karen Bendersky website View Website Karen Bendersky website Purchase Art
Artist's Statement
I am available for commissioned oil portraits of people and pets. While I am enthusiastic about portrait painting, I am not interested in photorealism. Instead, I hope to realistically and classically capture the beauty that I see in everyone as well as convey their personality. Please contact me at karen.bendersky@gmail.com, if you are interested in a personal portrait.Featured Work
