About the Artist

Katrina Griffis, is a Maryland-based artist that captures the beauty of Black women through contemporary art. Katrina aspires to create art that sparks conversation, celebrates Black beauty with art that focuses on our visage. Katrina is a passionate advocate for social justice and representation. A self described AI Collaborative Artist, Katrina embraces all the positive aspects of the controversial practice of using generative art in the visual art world. Her artwork is a fusion of human creativity and artificial intelligence, which allows her to craft  unique and innovative artworks. Inspired by all sorts of colors, shapes, and dreams, Katrina mixes different techniques, which add texture and layers to her original style of using traditional and digital art.

Artist's Statement

​"As an Fusion Artist, I explore the intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence. My creative process involves a unique collaboration between human and machine. I provide the initial concepts, inspirations, and artistic direction, while the AI generates intricate patterns, textures, and color palettes that would be impossible to achieve through manual techniques and then I take those images and further develop them using mixed mediums like paint, pastels and collage. This synergistic approach allows me to explore new dimensions of artistic expression and produce works that are both aesthetically pleasing and intellectually stimulating.Through my art, I aim to spark conversations about the nature of creativity, the role of technology in the arts, and the potential for AI to enhance human expression. By pushing the limits of what is possible, I strive to create a lasting impact on the world of art and design." -Katrina
