Follow the portals — I know them when I see them. They bring me to my highest self, they call me to expand, they lead me down paths of curiosity and discovery. They connect me to the world, and other worlds, and others. They call me to action, to behold humanity, to hold contradiction, to always want more.
About the Artist
Kelci Tillman is an artist and writer living in Baltimore, MD. Kelci Tillman studied Graphic Design at Academy of Art University from 2012-2015, but realized that she wanted to explore different mediums and the freedom of not being behind a computer. She graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree and began freelancing and honing in on more illustrative work. Since then, Tillman has explored drawing, painting, and writing as her main mediums. Tillman debuted her first paintings at a solo show, Freakbanana, at Wet City Brewing during Artscape in 2019. She was then featured in a trio show at Farley Art Gallery, which included installation art in 2019. Tillman was selected for The Creative Alliance's art subscription boxes during the Pandemic in 2020. She completed an illustration commission for The Washington Post in 2021, and she had a painting selected for a group show entitled, Laid Bare at Gormley Gallery at Notre Dame of Maryland University in 2022. In addition to participating in shows, Tillman has completed many personal commissions for folks in Baltimore and beyond. Tillman finds the most inspiration from the women surrealists of the 20th century. She looks for magic in the everyday and thinks everyone can access it with open eyes.Kelci Elizabeth Tillman website Website Kelci Elizabeth Tillman website Newsletter
