About the Artist

I, Kierán LeBlanc Brendan (legally Conor Brendan Mueller), am a non-binary multi-disciplinary artist primarily focused on live musical performance. I’m the lead singer, songwriter, producer and artistic director of Conor & the Wild Hunt, an active Baltimore based indie folk-pop band. With this band, I perform regionally, tour around the US and record/release music on all platforms. I most frequently use music as a tool to foster conversations about issues close to my heart, including: Indigenous rights, reproductive rights, the lives of Palestinian children, immigrant rights, and mental health advocacy, among other things. Though I do have songs about other things, such as my childhood cat and hopping freight trains (true story). I’m also a filmmaker getting ready to release my first film, in collaboration with local filmmaker Chancey June. It is a story about four generations of one family and the ghosts that haunt them, told in period piece vignettes and narrated by music (though not a musical).  I’m undergoing facial feminization surgery in March, and will begin presenting fem full time starting in May (so exciting :), but will also be rendered unable to work for 6-8 weeks during recovery.  I also struggle with ADHD, which has caused severe difficulties with running the business side of my work. Needless to say, money is a struggle. So a grant would be incredibly helpful with helping cover living and business expenses, such as rent, LLC fees and merch production costs, which are currently out of reach.  Thank you deeply for your consideration <3
