Konopinski Laura Beth

About the Artist

Born in New Mexico though raised in the midwest, the artworks of Laura Beth Konopinski are informed by this contradictory change of her surroundings. With a deep passion for the natural world, Laura Beth often incorporates organic materials into her works. Her expertise is sculpting glass while blending contemporary and traditional methods though she also uses other materials such as metal and photography.    Laura Beth was accepted into the emerging artist Flight School Fellowship Program sponsored by the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. This encouraged a shift in priorities and she began consistently producing more of her own artworks. After attending many years as an assistant, Laura Beth was invited to be part of the 2018 Annual International Glass Exhibition at Habatat Gallery. In this year, she was also given the Selected Artist Award from the Toledo Museum of Glass.   Laura Beth Konopinski currently keeps a studio space at Washington Glass School in Maryland, where she works as the Studio Coordinator. She has worked and taught in other renowned art facilities across the country such as Penland School of Crafts, Corning Museum of Glass, Pilchuck Glass School and Pittsburgh Glass Center.
