Leanne Fortney

Painting, Printmaking, Public Art, Visual / Media

Hello, I’m Leanne Fortney—an artist, mother, nurturer, gardener, and lifelong learner. Some even call me a unicorn. My art is an extension of my life’s purpose: to advocate for those who need a voice and to connect people to the world around them. I believe in the power of creativity to inspire change and to nurture a vision of a healed, thriving planet filled with hope.

For me, reconnecting with the land is inseparable from reconnecting with ourselves and each other. Healing requires us to challenge old narratives, adopt sustainable practices, and embrace the discomfort of growth. It’s about progress, not perfection, and finding beauty in the journey of transformation.

My work is deeply rooted in helping others grow—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Change, though often daunting, is essential for progress, and I’ve learned to embrace it with open arms. Life has taught me that perseverance isn’t about never stumbling but about rising each time with greater purpose and strength.

As an artist, I strive to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and connected. Through my art, I hope to spark conversations, challenge perceptions, and remind us all that the change we seek begins within ourselves.

About the Artist

I’m Leanne Fortney—artist, mother, nurturer, and lifelong learner, as well as a coalescence storyteller. My oil paintings bridge artist, viewer, and society, creating shared spaces where all feel seen, heard, and supported. Through my art, I celebrate everyday stories, honor lived experiences, and challenge the false narratives that hinder understanding and connection. I believe healing begins by reconnecting with the land, ourselves, and each other. Growth requires embracing discomfort, challenging norms, and prioritizing progress over perfection. Change can be daunting, but perseverance means rising stronger each time. Together, we can spark the journey toward collective understanding and renewal.
