Recently I have been exploring my identity as a Latina woman living in the United States. This collection began with completely abstract paintings and evolved into the more representational figure paintings I am currently creating. These works are solely my experiences and observations, from micro-aggressions in a work setting to the pandering I saw for the "Hispanic vote" during election season. My most recent painting is taking a look at the self-observation that I went through with each of the earlier paintings.
