About the Artist
Linda Roy Walls has been photographing her Eastern Shore surroundings since 1970. Her roots are deeply planted on the Shore as is her passion for observing and writing about nature and people. Other than contributing photos to local publications, Linda did not begin showing her photographs to the public until 2009. Since that time she has earned recognition for her images through national, state, and local photography competitions, winning awards or special mention from Smithsonian Magazine, Adkins Arboretum, Dorchester Center for the Arts, Queen Anne's County Center for the Arts, the Maryland State Department of Natural Resources, and WHCP Community Radio. In 2016 and 2017, Linda was named a "People's Choice" award winner (for North America) by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology for two separate photos in their annual BirdSpotter Photo Contest. Linda has participated as an invited exhibitor at Easton's Waterfowl Festival and the Ward Brother's International Carving Competition in Ocean City. Linda showcases her favorite photos on canvas, wood, and metal in her Chestertown, Maryland gallery (open from Thursdays to Sundays) located at 308 Park Row. She also regularly contributes photos of buildings and structures on the National Historic Register to "Wiki Loves Monuments," as part of the Wikipedia free encyclopedia.Linda Roy Walls website View Website Linda Roy Walls website View Gallery
