About the Artist

Lisa R. Danaczko is a dynamic storyteller and engagement strategist. Her artistic practice examines creative placemaking with themes of belonging, collective memory, hidden connections, and respite in public spaces. After a 15-year career building communities of champions for arts, culture, and education nonprofits, she launched in 2025 "L. Rose Creative," a consulting practice to help social impact professionals energize stakeholders with community stories. Her passion for community engagement grew when Lisa moved to Baltimore in 2010 and taught photography and writing to young people advocating for their neighborhoods at Wide Angle Youth Media. Since then, she has proudly served this community of creatives as a guest artist, ambassador, and former member of the Board of Directors, including a term as Board President. Lisa holds a M.A. in Writing from the Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Art History and Creative Writing from Columbia University. Her work as a fiction writer and visual artist, specializing in urban landscape photography, installation art, and organic sculpture, has been shown in publications/galleries in Houston, New York City, and Baltimore.
