About the Artist

Liz Lescault is known for her biomorphic sculptures.  She worked for many years exclusively in clay first as a potter and then as a sculptor.  She continues to work in clay combined with other media but is currently working primarily with extruded plastic filament. Liz also explores a variety of mixed media in her work. Liz has received numerous awards including the Maryland State Individual Artist Award.  She has also staged six solo exhibitions and has participated widely in group shows.  She was a member of Red Dirt Studios, art incubator and seminar before becoming a member of Otis Street Arts Project, studio, exhibition space and art incubator in Mt. Ranier MD. Liz lived in Botswana and Lesotho Africa where she studied traditional African ceramic techniques and in France where she studied watercolor. A selection of her work is part of the permanent collection of the National Museum of Botswana.
