About the Artist

I grew up in Essex, MD.  I was taught to draw from my father.  I studied Advertising, Fine Arts, and Photography in Ohio at the Columbus College of Art and Design.  Leaving school just shy of graduating, I toured the United States, and ended up in Olympia, Wa. for six years.  There I lived as a full time artists.  I have had shows from Washington State and Maryland over the years.   My main study is to paint from my subconscious mind.  I call it subliminal painting.  I may read a story or have a conversation with someone, or maybe a thought or shape will pop into my mind.  I then take it to my sketch book and relax my mind and let the pencil/brush guide my mind.  I have done commissions in many styles:  realism, expressionistic and surreal which is one of my favorite movements.
