About the Artist
Lucinda Marshall is a mixed media artist working most recently in improvisational quilting, including a technique she has developed called Modular Improv Quilting. Her quilts have been published in Uppercase, Quiltfolk, and Curated Quilts, and recently shown at the Chesapeake Arts Center. Lucinda is also a writer, and author of the poetry collection Inheritance Of Aging Self (Finishing Line Press, 2021), as well as several recent poems about quilting. Her poetry has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies and has won awards from Waterline Writers, Third Wednesday, and Montgomery Magazine. Lucinda lives in Maryland and is a member of the DC Modern Quilt Guild and Studio Art Quilt Associates. She is also the Founder of the DiVerse Gaithersburg (MD) Poetry Reading and of the Gaithersburg (MD) Poetry Workshop, Marshall has also served as a volunteer mentor for the Gaithersburg Teen Writing Workshop, part of a program run by the Maryland Writers' Association.Booking
