About the Artist
Being a person born and raised in Vietnam, who also studied in Russia and lived in the US, has given me the opportunity to live and travel through numerous countries and be exposed to multiple cultures. I started painting when I was a little girl. My passion for art truly came to life in 2001 when I moved to Moscow to study industrial design. Seven years in school with lessons in paintings, graphics, sculpture, photography… sowed in me a love for arts and rendered arts a part of my life. In 2010, my family and I moved to the US to settle down in Washington D.C. 2020 was a tumultuous year for the entire world, and especially the US. This period of time is also a turning point for me. I had time to reflect on the things I enjoy and am passionate about. I decided to end all of my businesses and returned to painting full-time. My works are inspired by anything that evokes emotions in me. From tangible subjects such as flowers, landscapes, humans, animals to the intangible such as balance, the circle of life, love, and more. As an enthusiast of graffiti art, I enjoy adventures with colours. I often fuse impressionism and expressionism with emotions to create my artworks. While adoring oil, I am also proficient with various other media, therefore in addition to oil and lacquer paintings, some of my works were painted in multiple layers with different materials combined. In 2021-2022, I participated in dozens of exhibitions in Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Philadelphia… Along with introducing my works to art collectors, exhibitions gave me the opportunity to exchange with artists of different styles, who use different media. This planted in me the thought of finding a unique material and medium. This led me to Vietnamese lacquer. I decided to return to Vietnam in 2023.Featured Work

Woman 40
Oil on canvas
2023
The work "Woman 40" I drew about the mood and emotions of a woman when she turns 40. Age 40 is not young but not old either. Turning 40 can be an exciting time in life, where women gain wisdom, experience and a sense of confidence in who they are.
I use the image of two flowers in the painting: The rose symbolizes the desire for love. Artichoke flowers symbolize the desire for peace.
