infinite love
ceramic vessel, oil, gold leaf
2015
As I began to work on this vessel, I took inspiration from my own personal experience.
Nine years ago part of my personal process of healing was to send love and chemo to my cancerous cells and allowing peace, wisdom, love, joy, light, trust and power into my life.
With those thoughts in mind, I decided to paint the transformation of my abnormal and out of control cells to healthy cells turning into a big pink flourishing flower.

Infusion 2
oil on canvas
2012
A couple of years ago I was a caregiver for my father in law who had melanoma.
These series of works are called infusions.
While I was at the hospital with him for his chemo treatments I started to focus my attention on his infusion drops. Drop by drop- I started to imagine and daydream how each drop would come down from the iv bag into a small white plastic chamber and slowly go through the long transparent plastic tube right into the thin grey plastic needle to finally enter his body.
Art enabled me to process this information and see what we were going through in a different light.
