About the Artist
Mary Annella “Mimi” Frank Mary Annella Frank was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, and received her MFA from the University of Maryland in 1979. Her work explores social, cultural, and historical themes or persons with the intent of creating physical objects that embody the essence of those investigations. Primarily working in steel and a range of other materials, her work straddles a craft sensibility of workmanship, while maintaining an artist’s expressiveness and interpretive power.
