About the Artist

I have lived in rural areas close to cities for all of my adult life and have always enjoyed working outside. I have raised vegetables, children, and buildings outside, and I have always made paintings and drawings primarily outside. In 1964 I received a B.A. in Romance Languages from Radcliffe College. In recent decades, I have resumed my study of foreign languages. In 1986, I received a BFA in Painting from MICA, which has led to exciting painting residencies, gallery shows, and the honor of having my work in many collections.

Artist's Statement

My work is done quickly from life. It has mostly to do with light & air & distance. There is a minimum of detail. Things look the way they appear when we are outdoors.
