A native of California, I moved to Maryland more than 40 years ago, at which time I began to paint seriously, first in watercolor and subsequently acrylic and mixed media. Active in the DC art scene as a member of Studio Gallery from 1991-1997, I am now a resident in Baltimore, Maryland, where I moved in 1997 when I purchased an old stable to rehab into a live-in studio. I was represented by Montage Gallery from 2003-2010 with annual one person shows. I have been in major (local) juried shows in the last two years in addition to exhibiting in select opportunities. My work has been abstract since 1994 and I work on both paper and canvas. My paper work, unframed, ranges from 11" x 15" - 34" x 44" mixed media and acrylics on Arches paper. My canvases range from 36" x 36" up to 44" x 52" although I do have larger work. I find working with acrylic, powdered pigment, sumi ink, pastel and watercolor on canvas or paper will allow my expression it's full range and have been using this process for the last 10 years. Recently I have been experimenting with adding found materials to my canvases. I am always influenced by life around me and focus on channeling it into my paintings. I have work in private collections in California, Florida, New York, D.C., Virginia and Maryland, including 18 paintings in the George Meany Center for Labor Studies formerly in Silver Spring, MD I continue to exhibit in both California and Maryland.Featured Work
