Mei Shyuan Chiou

About the Artist

Mei Shyuan Chiou is acclaimed as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral performer. A Premier Artist with Marimba One and Salyers Percussion, she has won international awards, including second place at the International classical Marimba Artist League Competition and first place in Italy's PAS Percussion Competition. Chiou has been invited to perform and give masterclasses for universities in US, such as University of Central Florida, Interlochen Arts Academy, University of Maryland, University of Kansas, and many more. She also had been invited to perform at PASIC 50 (Percussive Arts Society International Convention) to share her collaborative works with other musicians. As she had been invited to be one of the International Committees in PAS this year, she will be continuing to present performances, masterclasses and compose new works for six mallet marimba, advancing contemporary chamber music and percussion pedagogy nationwide.
