About the Artist
Michael McGee, (SAG-AFTRA, AEA), is an actor, director, teaching artist, writer and producer. He lives in Baltimore, he lived and worked in Los Angeles for many years. He directed Gorky's THE LOWER DEPTHS produced by The Homeless Writers Coalition performed on a Skid Row parking lot and at Stages Theatre in Hollywood. He played Polonius in HAMLET, directed, starring, Bruce Beatty with Don Cheadle, Jesse Borrego and others, performed around Los Angeles including Skid Row. He taught acting workshops for homeless artists on skid row. McGee directed/produced and acted in Matt Benjamin's CHINESE FUNERAL MARCH with William (Stan) Stanford Davis. He won a LA Weekly Award, Best Supporting Actor, for his performance in Juan Mayorga’s, WAY TO HEAVEN, directed by Ron Sossi at the Odyssey Theatre. McGee recently appeared in THE MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN starring Jeremy Renner produced by Paramount TV. He is currently directing and producing the play The Petrified Forest and writing a 6 part episodic work.
