My work is informed by the landscape of fragmentation. I start with chance marks and then continue with intentional drawing, repetition and a combination of materials. I piece together fragments, line, marks, image. It is a process – the connecting of disparate parts. It is like filling in an incomplete narrative. It is like mending a pot. It is like making whole what is not whole at all. I choose to work only on paper. It might seem fragile but it can be torn, bent, made wet and still, it survives… like us.
