About the Artist

Amina J. Allen is the creative force behind MotherEarthEssence LLC, a Black Muslim woman-owned art business based in Baltimore, dedicated to transforming mix media resin art through the enchantment of glow in the dark pigments and 3D resin wave textures. A mixed-media artist, henna artist, and innovator whose work merges woodworking, resin artistry, and functional design to create one of a kind art, to inspire connection, expression, and healing within the community.    

Artist's Statement

Amina J. Allen is a multidisciplinary artist based in Baltimore, known for her custom mixed, all natural henna and jagua paste to apply intricate, nature inspired henna designs for celebrations, events, or any occasion. She further expands yet, doesn't limit her artistic abilities into mixed-media and functional artworks such as lamps , charcuterie and cutting boards, countertops, backsplashes, and other multifunctional  known for her signature glow-in-the-dark 3D resin wave tables that blend woodworking, resin techniques of sculptural depth. Amina’s work bridges tradition, expressionism of innovation, offering art that is both enveloping and deeply connected to natural materials and storytelling of everything natures has to relay in the method of still-art . Her creations blend organic elements, craft innovation, and spiritual connection—embodying her signature ethos: “Created from the Earth, made by MEE—Mother Earth Essence.”
