I'm not so interested in knowing exactly what a piece of art is about. At a high level, I hope my work has passages that lead the viewer to their own meditation. Some of the reoccurring thoughts I have while painting include how time can feel both linear and...something other than linear. Sometimes it feels like everything is happening at the same time, just in different dimensions (for lack of a better word). Everyone who has ever lived has gazed at the sky. And the sky looks much the same as it does in paintings from hundreds of years ago. Scientists say the climate change could result in more and more gray skies. Of course I'm also very interested in light. My thoughts on the dichotomy of time is just a feeling I have, but light can be studied in two very different ways - as a wavelength and as the particles.

Artist's Statement
In these paintings I'm working from memories of being under changing skies. The sky is a universal motif that speaks to all of us; people have always looked up to the sky in wonder/prayer/meditation.Featured Work
