EDUCATION School: Good Shepherd Convent (India) College: Bachelors degree in Science from Women’s Christian College, India Immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1995 Largely self-taught but have taken workshops with a few artists like R. Burridge, David Dunlop, Joe Digulio. 2012: Solo exhibition at the Bank of America, Olney, MD, gallery space 2012: Selected and exhibited in juried show at the Glenview Mansion, MD 2012: Selected to exhibit in the Waterford Foundation Arts & Crafts Fair, VA 2013: Selected to exhibit in a juried show at The Montpelier Arts Center, Laurel, MD 2014: Invited to exhibit a painting at the Columbia Arts Association Annual Fund Raiser show 2014: Two paintings selected for an exhibition at a gallery in Washington, D.C. Recently, portfolio accepted to add to the existing roster of emerging artists, at a prestigious, long standing gallery in Bangalore, India Currently working on a series of paintings with the broad theme, “Life”. Working and living in Montgomery County, MD ARTISTIC STATEMENT My art is about feelings, emotions, impressions of the mind. The human mind has always fascinated me. I paint what I feel and sense, not what I see in the material world. Colors, rich and intense, free flowing styles, express my inner thoughts and I translate them on the canvas. Art has to have a narrative, excite the viewers, intrigue them to make them want to explore the artist’s mind through the paintings.
