About the Artist

Nicole Buckingham Kern is an artist, curator, and arts administrator. She holds a BA in Studio Art and Art History from Notre Dame of Maryland University and an MFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited regionally, nationally and internationally and is included in both institutional and private collections. She writes the “On the Level” column for BMoreArt and publishes as The Barefoot Gallerist on Medium and Substack, where she explores the intersections of art, daily life, and the often unseen labor of creative work. In her artistic and curatorial practice, Nicole focuses on making art relatable and accessible, and experiential, emphasizing community and connection within the arts.
