About the Artist
Pansay Tayo is a cultural arts practitioner working at the intersection of maternal health, community healing, and ancestral practice. Through African-centered birthwork, rites of passage programming, and community-based facilitation, she creates culturally grounded spaces that support individuals and families through life transitions from conception through adolescence.
She is the founder of The Sacred Pause Red Room, a healing arts space offering childbirth education, prenatal and postpartum support circles, and intergenerational programming rooted in African diasporic traditions. Her work integrates ritual, movement, and storytelling as forms of social practice art.
Pansay’s work centers the restoration of cultural traditions while addressing maternal and infant health disparities within Black and Brown communities.
