I am a graphic designer by profession/need.
I am an artist who loves to paint fast —with brush strokes and "mistakes" showing. I don't like perfection in my work. I like to see energy.
I am inspired by such great artists as Duchamp, Chagall, Hopper, Diebenkorn, Wesselmann, Basquiat and most recently Razvan Boar and Kelly Reemsten, to name but a few.
I actually almost sold a painting — once. I got an offer, but at the time I was too attached to my work to want to sell it. Now, as I was told by others I would, I enjoy the painting process more. Just to create is enough. And of course now that potential buyer is gone.
Only show in a local members non-juried show one painting once a year.
I have no formal training. Just started painting 11 years ago.
I started out in oils, but now paint exclusively in acrylics.
