I represent universal rites of passage whereby the protagonists gain knowledge, encountering figures and environs along the path that either spur them forward or add interference to impede further progress. The protagonists of my varied narratives are experiencing unavoidable change, with varying degrees of acceptance, and immutable outcomes despite their skill or perceived influence.
I am inspired by figurative exploration through deliberate archetypal retrospective styles and the evolution of abstracted and literal representation of the human form.
I search for essential idealized forms and relationships, obscuring the lines between invention and observation using nature as a guide while working independently from it.
