About the Artist

R. Z. Zoot is a self-trained sculptor working in limestone. A civil engineer by training and orginally captivated by stone in architecture, he is forever learning the versatility of limestone in design and ability to hold fine details.

A depiction of the Cupid's heart that everyone knows. What we don't know is what goes on inside the heart, and it's not often straightforward or pretty.
A low relief of a charging bull as it comes through the passageway of an arena. Scared, confused, and unsure but ready to protect himself.
A depiction of Noah's ark in the thick of it, sea serpents can be seen circling to boat. Sea monsters adorn the pedestal. Inspired by the sculptor William Edmundson's "Noah's Ark."
A rather cartoonish description of a man with clock work pieces. His eyes, clock gears, freely spin, and his mouth- a gaping hole with a cuckoo clock's chime that rings and yet signifies nothing. Inspired by a local politician who shall remain nameless.
An attempt to provide the most detail of the animal while removing the least amount of material yet still be representational, inspired by Constantin Brancusi's "The Kiss." Unfortunately as I have had it pointed out, he looks very much like the symbol for the Republican Party! But I like him nonetheless.
A representational work of a Dachshund, and a happy one. Inspired by a customer who had a Dachshund named Steve, a great name for a dog.
