About the Artist
My surroundings in the DC/Maryland/Virginia region and the natural world in all its forms have become primary subjects for my photography. When I am out with my camera I love discovering colors, textures, patterns, shapes, lines and layers that are not immediately apparent, and am fascinated by how these elements change with the light, seasons, and atmospheric conditions. For that reason I return again and again to the same places where I find new inspiration with almost every visit. My background is in graphic design working primarily with museums and galleries in the Washington, DC area. I studied photography as part of the Fine Arts and Design program in college but had then been away from it for many years spending time instead on painting and calligraphy. I continued exploring photography several years ago after acquiring a digital SLR camera for a trip to the Grand Canyon.Featured Work
