About the Artist

Renee Taylor, a multifaceted artist, healer, and entrepreneur who co-founded the Prince George’s County-based nonprofit, Operation Arts Foundation. With a vision to develop a creative economy, the foundation aims to lay the foundation for profitable, collaborative relationships between artists, businesses, and the community, streamlining opportunities and creating financial stability for artists. As an accomplished visual/performing artist who combines Afrocentric and pop art with a street art flair, Renee's success is a testament to her natural talent and hard work. Despite having received very little formal training in the visual arts, she has regularly exhibited her work at a professional level, demonstrating the power of dedication and commitment to one's craft.  Driven by her passion for giving back to the community, Renee is pursuing a nursing degree at Bowie State University, preparing to become a full-time RN in the community. Meanwhile, she devotes much of her time to creating public artworks, creative professional development events, and community engagement opportunities with the Operation Arts Foundation. Growing up in the streets of South Baltimore, Renee knows firsthand the positive impact that organizations such as the Mayor O'Malley PAL centers and City Year AmeriCorps can have on inner-city youth. Having been exposed to new and different opportunities in the arts and sciences through these programs, she is determined to pay it forward by helping other artists young and old achieve their goals. With her diverse skill set and deep love for the arts and sciences, Renee aspires to heal the world around her, be it through mind, body, or soul. Her inspiring story proves that investing in our inner-city youth can make a lasting and exponential impact on local communities. Join her and the Operation Arts Foundation in creating a more vibrant, equitable, and prosperous future for all.
