See more information about NumbersMy selection "Numbers" is excerpted from my story collection THE WORLD DOESN'T REQUIRE YOU. In that book, a female barber sets off an unlikely chain of events, a young husband decides to convert from Islam to Odinism, an inventor and his robotic helper create a new form of life, a young man is inspired by his friend's thesis examining the societal connections of a childhood prank, a man feels like a wax figure in the too- complicated setting of his own life. As the collection builds to its finish, in the concluding novella, two unhinged professors clash because of their very different ambitions.
