I'd love to share a true story with you that's both entertaining and fact-based about the most highly decorated civilian during World War II. Virginia Hall received a Distinguished Service Cross from the United States, a Croix de Guerre (Cross of War) from France, and was made an honorary Member of the Order of the British Empire for her heroic work in support of France's freedom and democracy at-large. In the voice of the American spy, Virginia Hall, I reveal to each audience the story of her youth, her travels and her work in Europe prior to and during the World War II era, as well as her post-war experiences as one of the first women CIA intelligence agents. Virginia Hall was born in Maryland and died in Maryland. During her lifetime she exemplified courage and ingenuity as she built a network of Freedom Fighters who assisted and supported Allies in her pivotal role leading to the success of D-Day. She motivated, inspired and equipped a battalion of 1,500 people who supported civilians and troops to put a permanent end to Nazi control and ideology. Virginia Hall accomplished this and more with one leg. The Nazi's considered her the most dangerous of all Allied spies and were determined to catch her. She escaped their grasp by trekking 30 miles across the snowy Pyrenees mountain range on one foot and one wooden leg. Pegged "The Limping Lady", Virginia Hall outwitted them all. Her generous spirit and commitment to Freedom and Democracy is at the heart of my one-woman portrayal.
