About the Artist
Sarah Brady is an accomplished actress, storyteller, teaching artist, and writer whose
rich backgrounds in theatre and education shape her dynamic approach to storytelling.
Before fully embracing the storytelling world, she taught communication and theatre at
several universities and transitioned into solo performance work. Her journey has taken
her across the United States and the United Kingdom, where she lived for three years,
deepening her connection to narrative traditions and cultivating a love for British folklore
and history.
Sarah’s storytelling spans historical, traditional, literary, and personal genres. Her work
has been recognized with numerous honors, including her being named Sunburst
Performing Artist of the Year by Arts for Learning Virginia and winning the Cambridge
Storytellers Liars Contest. She was also part of a collaborative project that received
the Pete Taylor Partnership of Excellence Award from the Military Child Education
Coalition for its exhibition, “I Have Three Homes”: Life as an American Military Child in
Suffolk, which explored the stories of third-culture kids in England.
She has appeared at various storytelling festivals, including as a New Voice Featured
Teller at the 50th Annual National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee, and
the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival in Lehi, Utah. Her collaborations include work with
organizations such as Story Tapestries, Arts for Learning–Virginia, Cambridge
Storytellers, Epic Tales, the Suffolk Archives, the White Rose Project at Oxford
University, the International Storytelling Center, Young Audiences New Jersey and
Eastern Pennsylvania, Armed Services Arts Partnership, and McCarter Theatre Center.
Driven by a deep belief in the power of story to foster empathy and connection, Sarah
specializes in uncovering and communicating the emotional heart of each tale she shares.
