About the Artist

For almost twenty years, I have been working as an artist.  As a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, and now as its Past-President, I have exhibited in galleries throughout the State of Maryland.  I have studied in Baltimore with Jim Condron at Towson University, Nancy Linden at School 33, and Polly Mitchell at The Mitchell School of Fine Arts.  I have participated in workshops conducted by the nationally known instructors Frank Webb, Serge Hollerbach, Don Getz, Skip Lawrence, Christopher Schink, Don Andrews and Fritz Briggs.  My paintings can be found in many fine corporate and private collections.   For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by shape, line and color. Although I’ve detoured with careers in education and computer management, I’ve never abandoned my enthusiasm for color and form.  Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards was the text that propelled me into a third career: being an artist.  The right side of my brain enjoys the patterns of light and shadow as well as the play of colors; but the left, the analytical side, never stops its observations about lines of perspective and physical properties of the pigments.  

Artist's Statement

For over a decade, I have been working as an artist. As a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, and now as its Past-President, I have exhibited in galleries throughout the State of Maryland. My paintings have been juried into the National Watercolor Exhibition in Los Angeles, and the International Work on Paper in Philadelphia. The right side of my brain enjoys the patterns of light and shadow as well as the play of colors; but the left, the analytical side, never stops its observations about lines of perspective and physical properties of the pigments.
