Artist Statement: My work explores the sense of renewal I find in landscapes and urban places. The daily rhythm of a place and it’s people, the change in sunlight and seasons provides for reawakening of a place and, in that moment, a fresh way to see the world. A glimpse down a city street in the late afternoon sees the city transform into a massive cathedral like space. Sunlight coming through the trees in an autumn afternoon explodes the forest into feast of color. An urban river is refreshed by the rising sun. My paintings and drawings celebrate the sense of regeneration as I find it in the people and places that I explore.
