Journal entry : Who am I ? Students will describe themselves, the good and bad. ( present self) Students will be given 15 minutes to complete.
Jumping right into the stress relief activity. I will introduce the activity Scream to the group. With the words that the students selected and painted in week 1, I have prepared a wall. With this wall, students will be able to take their frustration/emotions out by throwing darts at the paint-filled balloons on the collaborative word wall. (the paint-filled balloons: I have filled small balloons with paint *of different colors* and one by one each student will choose their word and throw the darts at the balloon while yelling “I am Stronger Than That” or “I'm not ____”. This will help students relieve stress and bring light to these complex words, showing them that the colors being exposed is a representation of power. The color is them, the color will overpower the black words that they have painted creating a masterpiece.)
