Stephanie Comegys uses multi-media to create both representational and abstract expressionistic paintings. To Stephanie, painting is language, a way of communicating to others, so she takes great care to be sure that what she creates breaths life and is a beneficial creation. It’s about being the vessel that allows creation to become. It then turns into a shared experience. Each painting has its own unique way and personality so to speak that she unpacks in the process.

In the process of painting, Stephanie looks through the obvious to see into the essence of what is forming within the painting. This is, then, expressed with color, texture, direction, and form in a free flowing yet intentional method.

About the Artist

Stephanie Comegys is a self-taught artist living in Maryland. She is inspired by faith, human experiences, concepts, and emotions. Stephanie creates as an outlet to both explore and express in ways that words fail. For many years she laid down the art, to attend college, earn degrees in Psychology and counseling, and pursue a career setting up services for people with Developmental Disabilities. In 2017 she left that field to once again pursue her love of art. Stephanie loves the freedom to create using multiple mediums, but tends to favor bold and contrasting colors and textures using acrylic, alcohol ink, modeling paste and other media.
