About the Artist

Steven Parker Bryant Born and raised in New York City, the artist was gifted with all the things that give potential to an untapped talent. First, there is the city itself, and not just any city. As I would later come to acknowledge: "For me, it served as the finest city for my pursuit of humankind." Indeed, there are many great cities that beckon the shutter-bug, but New York City is arguably the greatest of them all.  This iconic city is known for the richness of its diversity, neighborhoods, parks, transit, architecture and more. It brings together all the ingredients necessary for the enthusiast to realize their calling. Really, at what point in the history of modern photography in particular, has New York failed to entice the pointed lens of the photographer? Secondly, the city acts upon the dormant dreams of the individual photographer to "Get up! "Go see the world!" as was the case for each summer in my youth. My world that began in the five boroughs would excite me to the stretches of the globe as an extension of my world that never sleeps. I enjoy presenting my work in black and white. Before transitioning to digital photography, I began shooting exclusively in this vein using a simple, but advanced semi-professional, 35mm film, SLR camera. However, beginning in 2012, I have transitioned to the world of digital photography, using equipment such as the Canon EOS 7D, Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and then finally shifting to the mirrorless, full-frame Leica camera.
