Artist's Statement
As a poet and non-fiction writer, I am interested in sharpening the edges of everyday moments to unlock the deep rhythm and connection we all have to ourselves and the world. My writing is accidental and rarely planned, more the result of my exploration of the world and events in my life than a scripted journey. In this declamation of the ordinary, I hope to point the reader back to their own life in all of its messy, interconnected joy and sorrow. My visual art follows a similar path - sparked by a word, a color, a moment – and is led to materials that best serve the inspiration. Although I primarily work in acrylic on canvas for my own edification, I am called these days to work larger and in other mediums to deepen and flesh out my writing practice and speak more directly to the world.Featured Work
