About the Artist
Suzette Power Kelly is a mixed media artist currently living and working in Centreville, Maryland. She atteneded The Art Institute of Chicago, and graduated from the Maryland Institute, College of Art ( MICA), with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA). Her love of collage and constructions was developed while a student at MICA and continues to the present.
Suzete was a mural artist for Beautiful Walls for Baltimore, and operated a ceramics studio a School 33 in the same city. Her work can be seen in numerous private and public collections in the Unite States and Canada. Her Canadian heritage is often reflected in her work. She atteneded Emma Lake Artist Workshop in Saskatchewan, canada, and studied under the British sculptor, Anthony Caro.
She has been an art teacher for many years, teaching all ages and venues, and is certified in Art eduction k-12. Her passion for art and literature are manifested i myriad visual ways. Suzette has recently completed a series of mixed media constuctions titled, The Cheese Box Series.
