About the Artist

Based in Ellicott City, Maryland, Tarah Boyd is a multidisciplinary artist who creates large scale macrame, woven and tufted fiber art. Her engaging work is whimsical and delicate, yet embedded in the earthly, natural materials she uses. Boyd's free-form style has allowed the fibers to create a pattern (or shape) organically, revealing the beauty and vulnerability of her materials. Boyd was raised in Maryland, received her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design and her Graphic Design Certificate, before discovering her true passion for fiber art. Boyd has developed her style over several years as she explored how art can be used to express the difficult, yet beautiful, transformations life hands us. Today, Boyd exhibits her work, creates commissions, and teaches various fiber workshops.
