About the Artist
Theo is a seasoned DJ, educator, and cultural curator with a lifelong passion for hip-hop and youth development. Starting his DJ journey at just nine years old, Theo has spent decades mastering his craft while actively participating in two of hip-hop’s five core elements: DJing and MCing.
During his college years, Theo not only hosted countless events but also founded DEFinition, a hip-hop organization dedicated to uplifting and educating through the culture. He later co-created The 5th Element of Hip-Hop Symposium, bringing legends like Professor Griff of Public Enemy, Wise Intelligent of Poor Righteous Teachers, and Hakim Green of Channel Live to campus, furthering dialogue and knowledge about hip-hop’s social impact.
Beyond the stage, Theo has over 20 years of experience in audio-visual production and has DJed corporate events, weddings, parties, and college events across the region. He also has an extensive background working with youth ages 4 to 16, developing and leading engaging lesson plans. Now, Theo is focused on merging his two passions—music and teaching—by creating DJing curriculum and workshops designed to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation of DJs and hip-hop enthusiasts.
