TK Warren

Craft, Painting, Sculpture / Installation, Visual / Media

Museums and millionaires may own all the Tiffany Dragonfly lamps but no one can own the dragonfly. Be the dragonfly.. Be the art. My wearable sculpture and all my creations are from the perspective of the subject, if it is a dragonfly lamp by Tiffany I design what the dragonfly sees, from the inside out making the wearer part of the piece, the wearer becomes the subject of the art. A landscape by Klimt to me is to be more than seen but to be felt, to be worn as if the wearer is there in the garden or as his subjects must have seen in his studio with sensory overload of light and color.
A visit to MOMA on my 65th birthday was the first time since before the pandemic and significant vision loss, possibly covid related, I could no longer see some details but now I can see more depth, a 3rd dimension. Vision loss affects how you see into art but it doesn’t affect how you see out of art. The mind’s eye isn’t affected by vision loss. I create based on what I see from the inside, my designs are from the eyes of the subject. I create 3 dimensional wearable art using exotic woods, glass, resin, metals and paints that can be displayed as sculpture or worn as dramatic art pieces.
