Praised by The New York Times as a "serious jazz improviser" and lauded by Downbeat Magazine as "a rarity" in the jazz ecosystem, Victor blends Bebop roots, contemporary jazz sensibilities, and Caribbean traditions into a dynamic and original sound. Victor has performed at prestigious venues around the world, including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Shanghai Concert Hall, Royal Opera House Oman, Umbria Jazz Festival, St. Lucia Jazz Festival, Punta del Este Jazz Festival, the Chautauqua Institute, and numerous venues across Europe. He frequently appears as a guest artist and clinician at top institutions and festivals, including Birch Creek Performing Arts Center (WI), University of Trinidad and Tobago, Berklee College of Music (MA), Miami University (OH), Syracuse University (NY), Iowa University (IA), Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano in Costa Rica, and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, where he has appeared multiple times. In 2025, Victor released a highly anticipated project with longtime collaborator and GRAMMY-winning pianist Alex Brown. His previous album, Bright Eyes, debuted at #5 on the iTunes Top 40 Jazz Charts and received glowing reviews from The Washington Post, Jazz Times, and Downbeat Magazine. Victor has recorded and performed alongside jazz icons including Hugh Masekela, Paquito D'Rivera, Monty Alexander, Joe Locke, Nicholas Payton, Dave Samuels, and Wycliffe Gordon, and has appeared as a sideman on over 25 recordings. He is a six-time winner of Washington D.C. City Paper’s “Jazz Percussionist of the Year” and received Special Congressional Recognition from the U.S. Virgin Islands in honor of his work as an Arts Ambassador. Currently an Adjunct Professor of Music at George Mason University, Victor also conducts masterclasses and residencies throughout the U.S. and Caribbean, regularly visiting esteemed institutions.
