The Basement of Child Abuse is a nonfiction literary work based on my life. The book documents sixteen years of childhood abuse in which I was confined to a basement without adequate food or water, subjected to severe physical and emotional violence, and left injured and abandoned. Growing up without protection or family support, I survived an environment defined by neglect, isolation, and repeated harm. This work bears witness to survival under life-threatening conditions and the act of escaping in order to live. Through personal narrative, the book transforms lived experience into testimony about trauma, resilience, and the long-term impact of abuse, with the intention of bringing awareness, understanding, and healing through honest storytelling.
